L’intera storia della grande città è ricca di riferimenti a personaggi ed episodi mitici, ricostruiti in piena età augustea per la glorificazione dell’intera gens Julia, alla quale apparteneva il primo imperatore Augusto, figlio adottivo di Cesare, il cui progenitore era Enea, fuggitivo dalla città di Troia, conquistata e distrutta dalle fiamme ad opera degli Achei/Greci. Enea era figlio protetto di Afrodite/Venere. Nella sua fuga portò con se il padre Anchise e il figlio Ascanio. Dopo un lungo e periglioso viaggio nel Mediterraneo (Eneide/Virgilio) Enea approdò nel Lazio. Da lui lui provennero Remo e Romolo, fratelli gemelli e fondatori di Roma. Continue reading
