His time in the United States Army during Vietnam crafted the ideas for many of his songs. For example, his recent EP, "Soldiers Prayer," was a Top 10 "Best Folk Song" Finalist in September 2024 at the World Songwriters Association Awards.Ferrari also wrote "Dustoff" in 1966 while serving in Vietnam.

    John Michael Ferrari was also honored with the "Quilt of Valor" award for his military service in the U.S. Army. One of his songs"Bring Me Home," about getting ready to go to Heaven, won "Best New Gospel" inAugust 2024 at the West Coast Country Music Association, His country song "I Keep Rollin' On" on his recent "I Keep Dreaming" album won Ferrari "Best New Country Song of the Year" in Temecula, California. John Michael Ferrari has received too many awards for his outstanding talent to mention them all. in 2023, the Nashville Music Awards named John Michael Ferrari "Radio Artist of the Year". Additionally, in 2019, he was awarded "Singer-Songwriter of the Year" at the Fame AwardsJohn Michael Ferrari has graced the covers of several magazines, including New MusicWeekly, Hollywood Weekly Nashville, and eZWay Magazine.
