    Keep a Forgiving Attitude

“Forgiveness is not an occasional act, it is a constant attitude.” - Martin Luther King Jr.

How long do we want to be angry, and bitter, and resentful? How long do we want to carry that pain? How much time and energy do we want to spend trying to tear someone else down rather than focusing on building ourselves up?

Forgiveness doesn’t mean that we don’t set boundaries. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that we allow ourselves to be continually abused. Forgiving others allows us to focus on becoming the best version of ourselves because we understand that it’s really not about them.

Jesus forgave people who hadn’t asked for it, while they were still mocking and torturing him, saying “forgive them, Father, they don’t know any better.” He didn’t let them distract him from being who he was called to do or doing what he was called to do.

If we want to fulfill our highest possibilities and purposes, forgiveness must be our constant attitude.
