  • Self-Discipline: Are You Lying to Yourself About Your Goals?
    Jan 3 2025

Hey friends, welcome back to another epsiode, and let me tell you—this episode is one you’re gonna want to buckle up for. We're diving deep into something that’s been on my mind (and probably yours too): self-discipline. Yeah, I said it. The D-word.

But here’s the deal—it’s not about waking up at 4 AM and eating protein powder for breakfast. Nope. It’s about those tiny promises we make to ourselves every single day… and whether or not we actually keep them.

    • Ever said, “I’m hitting the gym tomorrow”… and then didn’t?
    • Or, “I’m sticking to this diet”... while holding a donut? 🍩
    • Or how about, “I’m calling those 20 clients today”… and somehow ended up reorganizing your sock drawer instead?

Yeah, we’ve all been there. And let me tell you—it’s not just about breaking promises. It’s about what those broken promises do to your self-image.

In this episode, we’ll chat about:

    • Why self-discipline isn’t punishment—it’s actually freedom.
    • How asking “Did I do my best today?” might be the most powerful question you ask yourself.
    • The sneaky little ways habits become either your greatest ally… or your biggest enemy.

Plus, I’m sharing insights from 75 Hard, lessons from John Maxwell, and a little real talk about how discipline builds the bridge between good intentions and actual results.

This isn’t a lecture—it’s a conversation. And if you’ve ever found yourself saying, “This year will be different,” then friend, this episode is for YOU.

So hit play, lean in, and let’s figure out how to stop lying to ourselves about our goals—and start showing up like the leaders we know we can be.

👉 Let me know your biggest takeaway—I’d love to hear from you.

Hey there, keep the changers! Welcome to the final Keep the Change episode of 2024. Man, can you believe we’re already here? It feels like this year flew by, and now we’re staring straight into 2025.

Before we jump into the new year—I wanted to hit pause with you. You know, this time of year always makes me stop and ask myself some big questions. Not just about goals and plans (yeah, I’ve got those too), but about me—who I am as a leader, a husband, a friend...a human.

Tony Robbins says, “The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your questions.” And I believe that with everything in me. So today, I’m sharing some of the questions I’ve been asking myself lately. They’re simple, but man, they pack a punch if you lean into them.

And yeah, we’ll get real about faith too—because for me, that’s been such a big part of my growth this year. If that’s not your thing, that’s totally okay. But if it is—or if you’re even just a little curious—stick with me.

Here’s the thing: leadership isn’t about being the smartest person in the room. It’s about being real. Being present. Asking good questions and listening—really listening—to the answers.

So grab your coffee, take a breath, and let’s unpack this together. I’m sharing some of the questions that have made the biggest difference for me this year, and I hope they’ll do the same for you.

Oh—and if something I said today hits home, shoot me an email at bartn17@gmail.com. I’d love to hear your thoughts, your reflections, or just how you’re doing as we head into the new year.

Alright, let’s dive in. Here’s to closing out 2024 strong and stepping into 2025 with intention, purpose, and a whole lot of heart.

  • Bruce Miller: The All Gas, No Brakes Mentality
    Dec 13 2024

Alright, keep the changers, let me just say… you’re going to want to buckle up for this one because this episode of Keep the Change is nothing short of legendary. And by “legendary,” I mean you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you might just rethink how you’re showing up in your life and leadership.

This week, I’m sitting down with Bruce Miller—someone who could write the book on perseverance (seriously). If you don’t know Bruce, here’s the quick 411: Bruce isn’t just your average guest. Nope. He’s a leader, a fighter, a human bulldozer of positivity, and someone who’s lived through challenges most of us can’t even imagine. We’re talking overcoming a tough upbringing, crushing it in the car biz, and leading teams with a perfect balance of "drill sergeant meets life coach." Oh, and did I mention? He’s been living with terminal cancer for over a decade and STILL manages to attack life with the energy of a thousand Red Bulls.

And let me tell you, his “all gas, no brakes” mindset is going to leave you inspired, fired up, and maybe questioning if you’ve been hitting snooze on your potential.

Because if there’s one thing Bruce reminds us, it’s this: life’s challenges don’t define us—how we rise above them does.
