It’s been 15 years since one of the weirdest controversies (and programming choices) in anime history.
In mid-2009, the second season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’s was under way when fans had a moment of Dejavu – it seemed like the same episode had aired for three weeks straight?
This was the start of the series’ infamous Endless Eight arch – a timeloop where 8 almost identical episodes were aired back to back, with only minor changes.
Why was this done? How did it impact the series reception? And does anyone actually like this? No.
This plus the latest anime news, podcast cats and a jab at Monogatari for good measure lol.
