  • Met ‘n geoktrooieerde rekenmeester as pa, was Johan Vos as kind ‘n dorpsjapie wat, danksy sy ma, wat ‘n plaas geërf het, van jongs af ‘n passie vir boerdery ontwikkel het. So passievol was Johan daaroor as ‘n tiener, dat hy smiddae na skool uitgedraf het plaas toe en terug - net om vir ‘n paar uur te kon boer. Vee was nog altyd sy groot liefde, maar mielies het noodsaaklike diversifikasie gebied soos die besigheid uitgebrei het. Johan het ook ‘n meule op die plaas bedryf, maar dié uiteindelik toegemaak namate die administrasie daarvan, en spesifiek geldinvordering, die aandag van sy boerdery begin aflei het.
