There is honestly nothing better in my opinion than getting something in the mail. Even when I order something online - I get giddy when I open up the package. I even like to stagger my online ordering habits so that I always have something to look forward to opening. Weird, right? Well, turns out there’s some science behind that philosophy by way of endorphins - and did you know that reaching out to your friends the old fashioned way is good for you, too? Those with stronger friendship networks are actually proven to live longer! No, I don’t mean the number of friends you have on social media, I mean true friends. The concept of sending greeting cards dates as far back as 15th century Europe, with mass production of cards beginning in the 1860s. Hallmark, created by Joyce C. Hall in 1910, is the largest - and oldest- manufacturer of cards in America. While this holiday may have been created by the card companies - I may not be able to prove it, but it’s a solid assumption, the fact is, this is an awesome holiday to celebrate. Pick out a personal card for a friend so that they know just how much they mean to you. I promise, you’ll make their day, and You might just get one back! Happy Holiday everyone - and I’ll see you tomorrow. https://todayaholiday.com/national-send-a-card-to-a-friend-day/ Photo by Bundo Kim on Unsplash
