Our Guest Estefania Rodriguez:

Estefania Rodriguez Sanchez is a Queer educator committed to dismantling the oppressive systemic and structural racism within public education by centering healing centered practices, Ethnic Studies, and abolitionist education. Originally from Colombia, Rodriguez immigrated to Hartford, CT when she was four years old and began her teaching career in the community that raised her.  She has proudly taught middle school for the last 10 years and is dedicated to supporting teachers in using critical pedagogy, ethnic studies, transformative justice, and community activism to empower students and their families. She is a fierce advocate and practitioner of centering the joy and knowledge of Black, Brown, and Queer children. In the fall, she will begin a Ph.D program at Stanford University in Race, Inequality, and Language in Education. Ultimately, she sees education as liberation.

Estefania holds a Master of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in the Learning and Teaching Program and a BS in Social Studies Education from Boston University's, School of Education.
