Today is part 4 in my series on the California Wine Association. “The Calamity Edition” Last time we saw the CWA gobble up their competitors after the end of the wine wars. They absorbed wineries, vineyards and wine houses. When they couldn’t purchase the entire company, they would get half. Allowing companies to operate with the veil of independence would keep the antitrust folks away. It was all fair game and they came out with control of over 2/3rds of the wine in the state. Today we see how they do in a battle against mother nature.
