The teams at Mirantis are excited to announce that Radio Cloud Native is back!
It will be following a slightly different format from before, and although Eric Gregory & John Jainschigg did a fantastic job hosting, we’ve decided to give a voice to more members of the Mirantis family moving forward.
You should still expect to hear a lot of critical information about the cloud native and Kubernetes space, but rather than covering recent developments in the form of a news update, Radio Cloud Native will aim to provide more thought leadership on the most pertinent topics of the day.
This week, Mirantis Sr. Solution Architect Kevin Ng is back with another deep dive comparing previous versions of Docker Engine with the latest versions of Mirantis Container Runtime (MCR) and Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE). It is worth noting that these Docker Enterprise solutions were acquired by Mirantis some years ago, and MCR and MKE represent the latest Mirantis iterations of these same solutions, enhanced by our development teams to provide robust and complete container and cloud native infrastructure management solutions.
A full list of topics for this week's episode include:
- A History of Docker Engine
- A deep dive into various container runtime interfaces
- Full explanation of cri-dockerd & its use cases
- Full overview of Mirantis Container Runtime (MCR) & its use cases
- Full overview of Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE) & its use cases
- Recap: cri-dockerd vs MCR vs MKE
