  • What is Theory?
    Apr 30 2021
"What is Theory?" As students and professors, we should question theory. But we should also value theory. Theory provides us academic types with definition ambiguity reduction. Theory defines our terms so we can speak and write from the same page of music collectively so to speak. Theory also arms us in the intelligentsia with concepts. Without concept there is no research to push humanity forward in knowledge and understanding. Finally, theory keeps all types of human endeavors on the square and level. Theory is needed for the metaphysical understanding of both Ethics and much more importantly today, Virtue. Theories literally provide humanity with the context for understanding what has happened, what is happening now, and what plausibly will happen on the near horizon.
