Te cuento el comienzo del comienzo.

Cumplí 47 años apenas días después del estadillo de la pandemia. Para una mujer como yo, el confinamiento con hijas adolescentes y la pareja intensificó la presión por mantener la pseudo identidad "madre y esposa ideal." Fue el caos cotidiano en aislamiento y tramitado a puro PERFECCIONISMO el que me rompió.

(Atención, el PERFECCIONISMO NO es esforzarse por ser mejor; es más bien un escudo que usamos para protegernos del juicio y la vergüenza).

Fueron largos meses de constante y destructiva autoexigencia. Y de la mano de ese agotamiento emocional propio de la mujer perfeccionista , apareció ella a las patadas y con su característico vértigo existencial: Bienvenida CRISIS DE LA MEDIANA EDAD

Y ahora qué?

Let me tell you the very beginning. I turned 47 just days after the pandemic outbreak. For a woman like me, confinement with teenage daughters and a husband intensified the pressure to maintain the pseudo-identity of the "ideal mother and wife." The daily chaos in isolation, managed through sheer perfectionism, broke me.

(Keep in mind, perfectionism is not about striving to be better; it's more like a shield we use to protect ourselves from judgment and shame).

It was months and months of relentless, destructive self-pressure. And alongside the emotional exhaustion typical of the perfectionist woman, she came bursting in, with her characteristic existential whirl: Welcome, Midlife Crisis. And now what?

Te cuento la historia de mi pareja actual y los detalles biográficos del caso. Nacida en los años 70 en Buenos Aires, me puse de novia con mi marido actual a los 19 años y vivimos progresivamente juntos el guión prescrito de la sociedad tradicional, siempre prolijos, o sea hetero y monógamos. Y así llegamos a hoy, con 32 años de vinculo nutricio y feliz. Y vanilla. En este episodio te comparto mi reflexión sobre eso, sobre todas las creencias, mitos, y factores de variado tenor que impactan en la mononorma imperante. Y de paso, al final, tengo el gusto de presentarte a la "biblia" de la No Monogamia Etica, el texto THE ETHICAL SLUT.

Es una elección la monogamia?

In this episode I share the background story of my marriage. Born in the 1970s in Buenos Aires, I started dating my husband at 19, and we progressively followed the traditional societal script, always neat and clear, I mean both heterosexual, cis gender and monogamous. And here we are today, with 32 years of a nurturing and happy bond. Obviously shaped originally as a vanilla exclusive relationship. It´s time now to open myself to deep reflections on this, about all things monogamy, the beliefs, myths, and every component of the prevailing mononormativity. And at the end, I have the pleasure of introducing you to the 'bible' of Ethical Non-Monogamy, the beloved book THE ETHICAL SLUT.

Is monogamy truly a CHOICE?"

Reflexiono en voz alta sobre la marcha trabajosa de la vida de pareja para personas que sostienen una relación amorosa a lo largo de varias décadas. La vida nos desafía y la pareja sufre fluctuaciones de todo tipo, que a menudo desembocan en lisa y llana desatención. Reparo en cómo inconscientemente dejamos que las cosas decaigan y se rompan antes de reaccionar, antes de poner manos a la obra para ¨trabajar¨ en la pareja. Distinguimos bien en la práctica de la convivencia en pareja lo que es URGENTE y lo que es IMPORTANTE? Propongo revisar para eso la matriz de Einsenhower.

Porque una vez establecido el pacto de monogamia con todas sus cuestiones inherentes, allá en los orígenes del vínculo, hemos vuelto al tema alguna vez a conciencia y honestamente?

Sobre el final, te cuento como rompimos en pandemia esa inercia comunicacional y asi se puso sobre la mesa la propuesta del hotwifing, definida como tal. Nos atreveremos a un cambio de paradigma relacional?

I reflect about the laborious journey of a couple's life for those who sustain a partnership over several decades. Life challenges us, and marriages experience fluctuations of all kinds, often leading to simple neglect. I highlight the awful truth, when we often let things decline and even break before act on that, before we take action and "work" deliberately on the relationship. Do we clearly see the difference between what is URGENT and what is IMPORTANT for us as a couple, in our day to day life together? I suggest reviewing the Eisenhower Matrix for this purpose. Because once monogamy is established as our foundational agreement, back at the origins of the relationship, do we ever take the time to address all things monogamy again, to touch base to the updated human beings that we are? Approaching the end of the episode, I share how this real life couple we form with my hubby, was finally able to discuss hotwifing. Will we be ready for such a relational shift?

Te abro una puerta a mi autoanálisis sobre la "cuestión hotwifing", despejada la definición de la práctica, ya exteriorizada y apta para ser discutida en pareja. Te ofrezco el repaso detallado sobre mis razones a favor y mis razones en contra. Complacida por haber dejado atrás las insinuaciones e indirectas del caso, me aboco a la comprensión de las implicancias conceptuales, más bien teóricas, de esta transgresión al mundo sexual tradicional de las parejas. Pero más allá de la teoría, podría yo abocarme a la concreción, ensayando un recorrido realmente afín a mi persona?

I open a door to my self-analysis about the hot topic: hotwifing", having clarified the definition of the dynamic, now externalized and ready to be discussed openly within our couple. I shared a detailed review of my reasons for and my reasons against it. Pleased to have left behind the confusing and elusive approach of the past, I focus on a deep understanding of the conceptual implications, more theoretical than practical, of this transgression to the traditional sex life of married people. But will I be able to engage in an actual path beyond theory, a real-life journey, that truly aligns with my deep self?

Retomo el gran tema gran: decidir la incursión. Y de ahí, poder determinar las pautas que estructuren el camino, basado siempre en el consentimiento informado. Distingo el tenor de las razones relevadas en el episodio anterior para remarcar que ningún análisis tiene cabida sin atender al debate interno mas profundo sobre el reto de fondo, también aplicable a cualquier otra propuesta de similar naturaleza que un hombre puede llegar a hacerle a su pareja: con esto me convierto en un instrumento del otro?

I need to return to the major topic here: deciding on the incursion. From there, establishing the guidelines to structure the path, always based on informed consent. I observe the tone of the reasons discussed in the previous episode to emphasize that no analysis can take place without addressing the deeper internal debate about the core challenge. This is also applicable to any other proposal of a similar nature that a man might make to his partner: with this, do I become an instrument of the other?"

Me detengo largamente en la afirmación del día: SOY UN CUERPO, destacando las implicancias psicológicas de esta concepción integral de la existencia humana a la que remite la afirmación, muy pertinente para avanzar en el contenido de esta crónica. Repaso las acciones concretas impulsadas hacia esta práctica, más allá de las conversaciones intramuros. Describo como generamos presencia en una red social y un website de citas especifico, ya entrando a la escena ENM. Te cuento la primera experiencia fallida, y abordo la importancia de la creatividad y el autoconocimiento en pareja para hallar la propia versión, el propio protocolo. Cómo se manejan los otros matrimonios en esto? Que es lo "normal" en el hotwifing?

I take the time to address first my affirmation for today´s episode: I AM A BODY, highlighting the psychological implications of this holistic conception of human existence that this statement evokes, which is so relevant to this chronicle in general and to this episode in particular. Since I review here the concrete actions taken, beyond private conversations. I describe how we are establishing a presence on a social network and a specific matching website, now entering the ENM (ethical non-monogamy) scene. I share our first failed experience and address the importance of creativity and self-awareness as a couple to find our own version, our own protocol. How do other couples navigate this? What is considered 'normal' in hotwifing?

Reivindico nuevamente la afirmación pasada porque resulta atinada también para el presente episodio, YO SOY UN CUERPO, ya que relato ahora la verdadera ¨primera experiencia¨ en este marco nuevo. Antes de volcarme al ¨caso del señor K¨, me detengo a repasar las características de los websites destinados a promover encuentros entre personas y parejas que habitan los mundos de la no monogamia ética versus redes sociales. Cuento los hechos que hilvanan esa primera experiencia y analizo detalladamente las interacciones que se producen, hasta la concreción de una cita caliente. Qué sigue a continuación, con él y con mi pareja?

I talk briefly again about my affirmation I AM A BODY as it remains fitting for the current episode, dedicated to telling all about my true 'first experience' in this new framework. Before delving into the 'case of Mr. K,' I pause to review how the websites that are in place to facilitate encounters between people and couples within the ENM world are designed, in contrast with social networks. I recount the events that weave this first experience with Mr. K and analyze thoroughly the interactions that we had, leading up to a hot date. And now…What comes next, with him and with my partner?"

Te cuento el derrotero completo de mi vinculito con el señor K, y lo disecciono en un vano intento por hallar respuestas donde, por definición, NO las hay. Porque allí hubo GHOSTING!. Propongo un análisis del caso en general, haciendo apuntes sobre este fenómeno más o menos habitual en el mundo de las citas y sobre mi caso en particular. Me detengo en reflexionar a conciencia sobre las numerosas áreas de mejora en mi propio abordaje y desempeño en la experiencia, porque evitar los malestares propios de ciertos problemas e insuficiencias no es solamente para gente en relaciones "tradicionales". Qué puedo y debo mejorar YO en este recorrido para atender a cuestiones que valoro como importantes?

I offer a general analysis of the case, with notes on this fairly common phenomenon in the dating world, as well as on my own specific experience. I take on the obvious task of reflecting on the many areas for improvement in my approach and performance in this situation, because the need to avoid the discomfort caused by certain issues and shortcomings isn't exclusive to people in 'traditional' relationships. What can and should I improve in my behavior on this journey to address the things I consider important?"
