The veterinary profession has come a long way over the last few decades but we’re not perfect. The future is bright, we just need a little help up the hill to see the horizon. What can help? We think urgent care can. It provides an important option between general practices and ER that can help after hours or when schedules get too thin. Urgent care clinics work in close communication with general practices and ER in regards to records and referrals and can provide innovative technology that augments GP services. That’s what we’re here to talk about. This series will take us through the relationship between GP and urgent care and will address how urgent care clinics can fill the gap by providing a “middleman” that can relieve the work burden. We will also address the myriad other challenges facing the industry and how we can all work together to provide better health for animals and the people providing care to animals.
