Grind the Pepper | Wy Files Ep. 17

  • Summary

  • In this episode, Wyatt and Annika discuss 6ix9ine being jumped, Jake Paul and other celebs being charged in crypto violation case by the SEC, Wolfgang Porsche abandoning his wife for having dementia, Lars Nootbaar becoming an overnight superstar while helping Team Japan win the World Baseball Classic, Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo's Prenups, Mike Tyson mistaking Hasbulla for a child, and the Hailey Bieber - Selena Gomez Drama. Three people were taken into custody after an alleged assault on rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine in a South Florida gym last week, authorities said Thursday. Rafael Medina Jr., 43; Octavious Medina, 23; and Anthony Maldonado, 25, were arrested and were being booked, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Thursday night. They are accused of assaulting and robbing the rapper, whom the office identified by his real name, Daniel Hernandez. Jail records show that Rafael Medina and Maldonado were being held on suspicion of felony battery and robbery charges. Records were not available for Octavious Medina. It was not clear whether they have lawyers to speak on their behalf. The rapper, 26, was in a sauna at an LA Fitness south of West Palm Beach on March 21 when a group of people approached him and “beat him up," his lawyer said. “He had cuts to his face and bruises,” the lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, said in a statement. Eight celebrities including actor Lindsay Lohan, influencer Jake Paul and rapper Soulja Boy have been charged by federal regulators with illegally touting two cryptocurrencies and failing to disclose they were paid to do so. The two cryptocurrencies, Tronix (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT), were sold by crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun, who was also charged by the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday. Sun and three of his wholly-owned companies — Tron Foundation Limited, BitTorrent Foundation Ltd. and Rainberry Inc. — are accused of the unregistered offer and sale of crypto asset securities and manipulating the secondary market by "wash trading," which involves quickly buying and selling cryptocurrencies to make them seem like they're being actively traded. The SEC also says Sun and the companies paid celebrities with vast social media followings to hype TRX and BTT and directed them not to publicly disclose their compensation. Billionaire Porsche executive Wolfgang Porsche is divorcing his wife because her “dementia-like illness” has become unbearable for him, according to a report. Sources close to the couple say the magnate, 79, finds it “impossible” to live with his wife, Claudia Porsche, 74, whose declining health has permanently altered her personality, the Daily Beast reported, citing German-language tabloid Bild. Shohei Ohtani, Lars Nootbaar, and Japan's 2023 team will go down in history after securing a record third World Baseball Classic title. Nootbaar was overwhelmed with emotion when asked about his team's thrilling victory. Japan went on to defeat the United States 3-2 in a tightly contested championship game on Tuesday. Nootbaar was instrumental in Japan's undefeated run to the finals. He was inspirational on and off the field and provided a level of energy that few players in the tournament could match. On this occasion, however, Nootbaar chose to step away from the spotlight and steer the conversation towards his teammate. He singled out Shohei Ohtani as a key figure in Team Japan's championship run. Hasbulla, 20, has revealed that he's still keen on meeting Mike Tyson, 56, after the very unusual first encounter they both shared. The pair teamed up to speak on a recent Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson podcast episode when, all of a sudden, the boxing legend picked up the adult TikTok creator and even tried to nibble his ear. The bizarre interaction has since gone viral online, amassing over 11 million views on Twitter in less than 24 hours. https://linktr.ee/wyfilespodcast --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wyfilespodcast/support
