Grave Conversations

  • Summary

  • Dying is the only club that isn't exclusive. We all get in. Sometime when you have a minute, take a walk through a cemetery and look around. Not only are the earthly bodies contained within those graves, but so are their stories. Real people who lived real lives. People who did miraculous things, people who shouldn't just fade into oblivion forever. The Grave Conversations podcast is designed to find interesting people who died, and through research, making contact with their relatives and friends, and a little dumb luck... hopefully be able to paint a picture of the life they lived. To resurrect a small piece of them, and bring it back to life.

  • Grave Conversations Podcast: Season 1, Episode 5 - Resurrecting Raymond
    Feb 26 2019

In a way this is mixed emotions for us. This is our conclusion to the story of Raymond Novakofski. We are sad that our time sharing Raymond's story has come to and end, and we are happy that we had a chance to bring this story to life again. A man with no family left, and a grave forgotten. A soldier who gave his life, and story that deserved to be told.

  • Grave Conversations Podcast: Season 1, Episode 3 - Resurrecting Raymond
    Feb 12 2019

Episode 3 picks up with our attempt to learn more about Raymond. Our biggest find was a newsletter for the George Banta Publishing Company of Menasha, Wisconsin. This is the company that Raymond worked for as part of the night crew. Lot's of updates from his short time there, and while he was serving in the military! The newsletter went from updates on workers in the factory to updates of their workers who went off to the war!
