A regular theme in the New Testament is gratitude for God’s grace to us in Christ. Paul expresses this gratitude in his prayer in Colossians. This passage gives us a deep and wide understanding of the grace of God that will expand our prayers and energize our living for his glory. Let every day begin with remembering the benefits that are ours in Christ.

The prayers of the Bible are always relevant and we should always be praying them. In this one, we see that the knowledge of God’s will is for the purpose of living for God’s pleasure. Pleasing God is bearing fruit in good works, enduring by his strength, and giving thanks for his grace. When we pray for this we can be sure the Lord will answer us. When we pursue this, we can be sure he will grant it. Let us pray, and pursue, for the glory of God.
