  • Summary

  • Welcome to another edition of the Florida Appellate Review Case Law Update. In this week’s episode, Palm Beach County Justice Association Board Members Andrew Harris and Jennifer Dinetz discussed a trio of cases addressing:

    •An Engle progeny case where an attorney’s improper closing argument resulted in a new trial;
    •The “boarding” of past medical bills for a plaintiff who is a Medicare recipient, with the Fourth District certifying a question of great public importance to the Florida Supreme Court; and
    •An appellate court’s referral of an attorney to the Florida Bar after the attorney engaged in improper conduct towards the opposing party and opposing counsel in trial proceedings.
