  • Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts sind die Ärzte überzeugt, dass die Lepra eine Erbkrankheit ist. Der Norweger Gerhard Armauer Hansen glaubt das nicht. Für ihn ist die Lepra eine Infektionskrankheit. Als Hansen 1873 das Lepra-Bakterium entdeckt, scheint seine Theorie bestätigt. Doch die Entdeckung eines Einzelnen bedeutet nichts, wenn ihm die Massen nicht glauben.
