    In this episode, Debbie speaks with guest Natasha D'Arcangelo about serious mental illness (such as schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar) and how it impacts the brain, functioning, and daily life, so that parents who have a teen or adult child with mental illness can better understand what challenges their child is facing and their struggles, in order to better support them and better understand them.



    Natasha is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the states of Florida, Oregon and Washington, a Florida Qualified Supervisor, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP), a Compassion Fatigue Educator and a Certified Forward Facing Professional Resilience Coach and Consultant. She received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University, Sarasota. She is the Director of Clinical Services for Lakewood Residential Treatment Center, the Chief Clinical Officer for LBee Health and the owner of D'Arcangelo Counseling & Consulting, LLC. Her previous experience includes working as an educator, an inpatient psychiatric setting, community mental health, private practice, the nonprofit sector, and mental health tech. She is an international speaker that has presented on various topics, most often on Compassion Fatigue.

  • Navigating the challenges when two children have mental illness

    n this episode, Debbie speaks with guest Richard Lynch. After growing up with a father who had schizophrenia and then losing his father to suicide, years later he found himself again dealing with loved ones with serious mental illness – a son with schizoaffective disorder and a son with bipolar disorder. Richard shares his inspiring story of navigating challenges and struggles, coping, healing, and helping others. Richard Lynch is a married father of 5. He holds an MA in Clinical Psychology. He is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGS), and certified in EMDR therapy. He is the AD of Programming in a 328 bed Department of Corrections (DOC) Substance Abuse Program, and operates a small private practice, primarily focusing on grief therapy for the family members of overdose victims. Richard operates a volunteer ministry called Spread the Word where he has conducted 113 funerals for families without a church or Pastor. He is also a writer, currently working on publishing his first book under his pen name Gator Lee. He can be found on Facebook, Instagram aka Gator Lee, or tik tok under LeanOnYourPeople.     Linda Henderson is a retired nurse who has spent 37 years caring for others. Experiencing the tragic loss of her daughter, she became passionate about helping others navigate the journey of grief. Together with her career, she was determined to increase her knowledge of suffering. She has certificates in Professional Grief and Development, Coping with Child Loss, and Bereavement Counseling. Her journey has shaped her and given her the determination to live life to the fullest. Nine years into her grief she decided to put her pain and suffering into words and wrote her book "The Road of Love & Hope" (Available on Amazon.) Since publishing her book, her new purpose and vision is to share her story to provide inspiration, hope, and empowerment to people suffering from grief and other adversities of life.
