No fancy terminology or pretentious remarks – just unfiltered thoughts from two gals in their mid-twenties. • Imma Be Eating You: Jeepers Creepers (2001)
    Jul 29 2022

This week the somewhat under-appreciated early 2000s horror movie, Jeepers Creepers (2001) gives us a real shock. Starring an allegedly hot Justin Long, Jeepers Creepers is a simple, classic horror movie that features an old, winged demon with bad hair who has some sick moves (I mean, he backflips off a car). So, join us as we talk about all things scary, like Christianity and vanity plates!

Talking points: Persuasion (2022), In Bruges (2008), Letterboxd Corner, unravelling who exactly The Creeper is, Christianity, how guys talk, The Creeper’s butt, and how the ending of this movie could have been better.

  • She’s Just Fine, Leave Her Alone: He’s Just Not That Into You
    Jul 1 2022

Warning: Olexa’s audio is bad for half of this episode *womp womp*

This week we review a movie we collectively have seen probably 12 times; it is the 2009 romantic comedy, He’s Just Not That Into You. We take on this late 2000s movie to see if it is really as “sexist” and “superficial” as the Rotten Tomatoes critics and Letterboxd users claim. And honestly, we’ve seen worse. He’s Just Not That Into You is just fine, so leave her alone!

Talking points: Toronto slang, movie budgets, reading reviews from practically every movie review platform, movie budgets, stereotyping in films, engagement rings, a rom-com for adult men, “high school” students in film and television, the diversity of your 20s, and Jennifer Anniston’s quest to bring back rom-coms.

  • Gaymy Schumer: Senior Year
    Jun 17 2022

This week we regret to inform you that Netflix’s Senior Year was an extremely enjoyable film! Sorry guys, but this movie is nostalgic, funny, and has an incredible soundtrack. If this came out when we were, like, 13, it would have been perfect to watch at a sleepover with your besties in your mom’s basement. Release your inhibitions, feel the rain on your skin, and watch Senior Year with us!

Talking points: Drew Barrymore, the insane plot of this movie, Rebel Wilson, Amy Schumer, Letterboxd Corner, Top Gun 2, the Netflix High School Cinematic Universe, the nostalgic charm of 90s and 2000s movies, our comfort TV shows, toe shots, and the soundtrack of this movie.
