  • Summary

  • Faatimah Amen-Ra always wanted to be a basketball player. In fact she credits the sport with "saving her life" as the native Canadian navigated a tough financial situation as a youngster, turning her focus to the game to find solace, meaning, and a future. Through hard work on the court she went from a relatively modest beginning, to college and a pro career overseas. Faatimah also had to figure out, on her own, how to maximize her opportunities by working tirelessly off the court to put her in position to realize her dreams. Eventually she had a vision to bring these opportunities to others, starting the Women's Premier Basketball Association in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through the WPBA she helps young women who want to continue to play after college by not only offering a competitive league of top players from Northern California and beyond, but mentorship and resources to continue their career overseas, just as she did. Faatimah shares her remarkable journey and efforts with Donovan and Kevin while also offering some great advice for young players, both men and women. Brothers from Another Mother. Don't miss it!
