Tim is a philosopher, award-winning writer and teacher. He has a doctorate in philosophy from the University of New South Wales on the evolution of morality and specialises in ethics, critical thinking, the philosophy of science and the philosophy of education.

In 2021 he released the critically acclaimed book entitled “How We Became Human: And Why We Need to Change” and we reference this frequently in our chat today.

In this conversation we discuss the moral panic of non-monogamy, where do our beliefs come from, whether monogamy is a moral good in the world, how do we calibrate our ethical compass, how do you balance the intellectual and the embodied, parenting and the window of plasticity, where do monogamous ethical frameworks come from, serial monogamy and so much more.

  • Fake Orgasms, Embodiment & Desire with Georgia Grace
    Feb 18 2025

Georgia Grace is a certified sex and relationship practitioner and somatic therapist who is particularly known for her work in somatic sexology, embodied counselling and trauma-informed practices.

Her approach to working with sex and relationships is inclusive, sex-positive and shame-free, and supports individuals, couples and groups to overcome common sexual concerns.

She is also a co-founder of NORMAL, a sexual wellness company, where she works with Lucy Wark and a team of experts to create educational courses and design modern sex toys.

Georgia hosts the podcast “Glad You Came”, and in October 2024 released her critically acclaimed book “The Modern Guide to Sex”.

This conversation was our first time meeting Georgia, and we were immediately captivated by her intellect, wit, compassion and articulate way of explaining concepts. Based in Australia, we are thankful that one of the leading voices on sexuality is someone who embraces a forward-thinking, inclusive and sex-positive approach.

In this wide roaming chat we discuss; faking orgasm, masturbation scripts, the concept of “The Learning Edge”, embodiment and sexuality, top down and bottom up therapeutic approaches, the role of porn, the window of tolerance, “up-regulating and down-regulating”, practice vs play sessions, maintaining erotic desire, listening to your bodies’ cues and so much more.
