    • Who is guiding me?
    • Who am I teaching?
    • When am I learning?


    • How much time do I have to commit to learning?
    • What resources am I using to help me in my learning?
    • What kind of learner am I?
    • How do I like to learn?
    • Audio - audiobooks, podcasts, waiata, reo irirangi Māori
    • Visual - Whakaata Māori ondemand, YouTube channels, flashcards, apps
    • Textbooks, books, e-books
    • Practice speaking with others and yourself


    • Base your learning around activities you and your group do and/or places you and your group frequent.
    • Activity - Eating dinner
    • Preparation - collect and learn vocab and sentences relating to that activity, make sure they are visible and easy to read and follow. Move onto breakfast the next week.

    Hēmi: Tēnā koa, kia kite atu au.

    Āpera: Me whai paraikete au, engari kei te marae ngā urunga me ngā hīti.
