  • Eva Margarete Plaut chegou ainda adolescente ao Brasil, depois que a família judia foi obrigada a fugir da Alemanha. Casada, passou a assinar Eva Sopher e ficou conhecida como a guardiã do Theatro São Pedro, de Porto Alegre, após lutar 10 anos para reerguer o prédio que estava praticamente em ruínas. Ela colocou a cidade na rota de grandes artistas e conjuntos internacionais como Eugène Ionesco, Jean-Pierre Rampal, a Sinfônica de Israel e o maestro Zubin Mehta, I Musici, Meninos Cantores de Viena, Orquestra de Câmara de Jean François Paillard, Fernanda Montenegro, entre muitos outros. Em 2015 ganhou a medalha Goethe, o mais elevado grau de reconhecimento da Alemanha na área cultural.
