Episode 61: Shining Light on Domestic Violence Awareness Month

  • Summary

  • Revisiting one of our impactful episodes in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Last October we invited our friend Joanne Musarra-Pipitone, to discuss the tragedy of losing her older sister to domestic violence and the steps she's taken since that day to educate and advocate for the cause. Joanne not only brings us back to the day her sister was brutally murdered at the hands of a former boyfriend, but also fills us in on her role with the Domestic Violence Unit with the Sayreville Police Department and her tireless work with Dina's Hope, a not-for-profit organization she started to help raise funds and awareness for those affected by DV. If you are or know someone suffering from domestic violence, there is hope and help. See below for resources and know that all police departments have a DV unit and are available to help in any way they can.
