Episode #47: "A Backline In Belgium" with Joe Campbell

  • Summary

  • Today's episode is one of my favourites yet: a wonderful in-depth chat with my friend Joe about his directorial debut short film that I recently starred in: "A Backline In Belgium." Four soldiers trapped in a single room inside the trenches of Belgium in WW1 are torn apart by each other due to the conflict between a captain and his superior officer as they discern who among them, if any, is a spy. We had a great chat about the behind the scenes chaos that ensued in his dad's shed, writing characters that would be believable and contrasting, and the research he did to make the WW1 setting more authentic.
