  • The global attention being directed on LGBTQ+ is not necessary for African states. Whereas it is true that this attention awakens a good discussions for all human beings across the globe, it is not true that Africa is ready to prioritise such a discussion. In a continent where poverty and unemployment are still ravaging majority of the countries, focusing on sexual orientation is just a wrong priority. Let Africa channel these efforts on fighting hunger, unemployment, deteriorating economies and rampant corruption that is eating up the continent quickly.  Yes, as a continent, we also have cultural values, decency and virtues that should be respected
