Episode 4-The Holy Spirit Upon: His Infilling Power

  • Summary

  • In the last episode we looked at the work of the Holy Spirit in Salvation and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, also called the Holy Spirit upon or the infilling of the Holy Spirit. In this episode, we take a closer look at the infilling of The Holy Spirit. Specifically, we look at John 20:21-22, when the resurrected Jesus breathed on His disciples and they received the Holy Spirit. This was the new-birth experience of salvation, or being born again spiritually because Jesus had now died for our sins. Then, we look at Luke 24:49, where the resurrected Jesus tells the now born-again disciplines to stay in Jerusalem until they receive power from upon High through the Holy Spirit. Finally, we look at Acts 2:1-4, where the disciples, per Jesus' instruction, were waiting in Jerusalem for the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and on the day of Pentecost the now born again believers received the infilling/baptism of the Holy Spirit followed by them speaking in different tongues.

We conclude the episode by looking at the fruit of the Holy Spirit from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit from the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
