Episode 181: WCW World War 3 1995

  • Summary

  • Sixty Men... Three Rings... Three Giants... One Battle Royal! That was the tagline for the very first ever World War 3 event for WCW in 1995. It was not great, but it was unique and it drew a pretty good sized house in Virginia. Johnny B. Badd (not shockingly) opens the show against DDP for the TV Title and it tests the Diamond Doll's allegiances. The All Japan women are in tag-team action that puts what the WWF did a month earlier to shame. Big Bubba Rogers and Jim Duggan face off in a Taped Fist match (yes, really), Sting takes on Ric Flair in a forgotten match-up, and Lex Luger faces an injured "Macho Man" Randy Savage. In the main event, we've got 3 rings, 3 commentary teams, 60 men, 3 giants, and 1 winner. However, the finish was marred with controversy and you'll see why. Let's just say that it makes the babyface Hulk Hogan look like a giant douche. In the news, we discuss one of Vince McMahon's lawyers being investigated by the FBI, WCW and NJPW's working relationship possibly coming to an end, Sabu's surprise return to ECW, and much more! linktr.ee/MainEventMarks Learn more about your ad choices.
