  • Wojtek was a Syrian bear that was bought by Polish soldiers just at the start of World War 2. 

    He was raised by them and lived with them for many years, enjoying many a beer, cigarettes and even learned to walk on his hind legs like his fellow comrades. 

    Wojtek became an official soldier and was even promoted to Corporal at one point. 

    Eventually he ended up in Scotland where he spent the remainder of his life.
