Episode 159: Waiting For Ryan... (AKA, "First World Geek Problems")

  • Summary

  • Jake and Tom planned to record a helluva good episode this week, but, well...  Life kinda got in the way.  But they're taking their commitment to regularly releasing shows seriously, so they're digging out this nugget for the listeners!

A few weeks ago, they guys recorded the first part of their upcoming "Before and After" review of Zack Snyder's Justice League with their pal Ryan from The Nerd Rage Podcast, but before they could get that started, Ryan was running behind.  Luckily, Tom hit the record button to capture the conversation he and Jake were having while waiting because they had the time to discuss something near and dear to them that they never seem to actually talk about on the show - Comic Books!

So listen in as your two favorite drunken dorks converse about the changing ways they've been reading funny books, their love of "shelf porn", their temptation to get into "custom bound" comic books, the pros and cons of reading books digitally (and what it will mean for the printed medium), Tom's burning desire to give money to Chip Zdarsky, how the guys both love and hate huge omnibuses, as well as their longing to return to the days when folks could go to conventions.

As always, be sure to help Jake and Tom in their quest for world domination by rating them highly on Apple Podcasts, following the guys on social media and by sharing the show with your friends!

Don't forget to check out Tom's guest spots over on "Someone's Favorite Movie" (hosted by friend of the show Randy Perkins), as well as all of the great shows brought to you by the guys' partners in internet radio, Geeks Worldwide!
