Episode 1 - Chef Dom Taylor

  • Summary

  • Welcome back to a brand new series of Objeks and Tings. This time around, our hosts will be cooking up some delicious 18th century Caribbean dishes. And we have some special guests along for the ride! In the season premiere, Catherine and Lynda speak to Chef Dom Taylor - winner of Channel 4’s Five Star Kitchen, where he wowed the judges and won the competition. In this episode, Chef Dom tells Catherine and Lynda about his experience of his Good Front Room residency at the Langham Hotel, the role Caribbean food plays in his identity and why he doesn’t “cook for money”. The guests will also be trying some oil down, and we learn the amazing story behind another Lynda creation - avocado cream… This episode was a Message Heard production brought to you in partnership with Catherine Ross and Lynda Burrell of The Caribbean Heritage Museum: Museumand. If you want to find out more about the dishes cooked in this episode, head to museumand.org to get all of the info about our cookbook, One Dish at a Time, Preserving Caribbean Culinary Culture.
