Episode 087: Rise and Fall of Freedom

  • Summary

  • “The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.” Thomas Jefferson

Freedom, as we know, is not free; and it can and is easily taken by those who would oppose it. But how could a citizen base who lives in freedom and claims to support freedom so easily hand that very freedom over to those who wish to take it?

Well, as Thomas Paine is quoted, “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.”

But what if we are losing our freedoms one slice at a time? What if the very citizens are giving their freedoms away with each cut to their very comfortable and conformable lives and their desire for dependence over responsibility? What if a nation could quietly be put to death by a thousand cuts?
