Episode 010 - Jill Hickey | Marlow FM 97.5

  • Summary

  • Jill Hickey is a dedicated volunteer radio DJ at the community radio station Marlow FM, where she serves on the management team.

She initially got involved with Marlow FM about 10 years ago when some friends who were presenters asked her to come on and talk about her own business.

Impressed by her natural ability and invited her to become a presenter.

Jill has a creative background, having studied drama and performing arts in school with aspirations of being an actress before going into stage management and working in the TV industry for 10 years.

At Marlow FM, Jill now hosts two shows - a music-based show focused on musical theatre and movies on Sundays, and a weekday morning talk show from 10am-12pm featuring interesting guests and local topics. She loves interviewing people and getting to know their stories.

Jill is passionate about creating opportunities for young people interested in radio through Marlow FM's training program.

Several former presenters have gone on to careers in commercial radio thanks to their experience at the station.

In her volunteer role, Jill helps organise community events and outside broadcasts that allow Marlow FM to connect with the local community.
