Episode 001: The Earnest Crimes of Ernie Cline

  • Summary

  • Okay, so we recorded this pilot a few months ago. That's okay, who cares. Sue me. In this opening salvo, we (August Smith, Eleanor Eli Moss, and Marcus Khoury) discuss: the name of the podcast, how we know one another, geek culture, and slam poetry, all leading up to a discussion of Ernest Cline's putrid little tome, "The Importance of Being Ernest," published by Write Bloody in 2013. At the end, August unveils the book's UK sales numbers and digs up some of Cline's unpublished poems from the cutting room floor by emailing a guy on ebay. We conclude with Marcus's "Napoleon Minute."
