Ep.51 Jane Evans | Brutal Honesty About Midlife Women

  • Summary

  • You want brutal honesty? Well here it is. Jane Evans says she has always been radical and these days she is not afraid to point out the bleeding obvious, not that she ever was. The issue being, midlife women, women of a certain age, simply fade from sight. For many, they become invisible.

Jane Evans is an executive creative director and activist who has lived & worked in the advertising sector in Australia. Now back in the UK, Jane is the Co-Founder of Visible Inc., and on this episode of the Power Of Women Podcast, she shares how she has created a movement to empower midlife women, and the need for societal change to support women in their careers. Jane and Di explore the challenges and opportunities faced by midlife women, emphasising the need for a shift in perceptions, empowerment, and the recognition of this cohort’s consumer power. The conversation highlights the need for a new narrative that embraces aging and redefines beauty, while also honouring the contributions of previous generations of women. New podcast episodes drop every Monday to power your week.

    WHO IS JANE EVANS?

Jane Evans is Co-Founder & Head of Visible Creators at Visible Inc, based in the UK. Jane is one of the most successful female creatives of her era. She was a regional Creative director for JWT, won a swag of awards and created campaigns that still run after 30 years. She’s most famous for creating James Squire, Australia’s top selling craft beer before there were craft beers. But in her fifties, she found herself completely invisible to the advertising industry. Her immediate reaction was, “If I can become invisible, what hope do other women have?” It was the first time in her career where she had no clients or briefs, so she made midlife women her client and brief to change the narrative for all of us.
