  • 『忠臣蔵』は、1701年に江戸城で実際に起きた赤穂藩主（あこうはんしゅ）の浅野内匠頭（あさのたくみのかみ）が吉良上野介（きらこうずけのすけ）へ刃傷に及んだ事件を題材にしたお話です。初回となるプロローグでは、高師直（こうのもろのう＝吉良上野介がモデル）のパワハラに耐えかねた塩冶判官（えんやはんがん＝浅野内匠頭がモデル）が刃傷事件に及び、切腹するまでの場面をご紹介致します。なぜ、刃傷事件が起きてしまったのか、その時代背景における感覚と共に解説。いよいよ、ここから"義士”の物語が始まります。

    二世竹田出雲、三好松洛、並木千柳の合作による『仮名手本忠臣蔵』は、全11段の構成で1748年大坂竹本座で人形浄瑠璃として初演され、その後に歌舞伎でも上演されました。日本中に知れわたった大事件を題材にした作品は数多く生まれましたが、実際の事件から47年後に上演された本作は、武士の手本ともいうべき忠臣義士の物語の集大成とされています。またタイトルは、当時の習学の手本である「いろは仮名（47文字）」と、47人の義士達が武士の手本であるという意味合いが重ね合わされ名付けられたとも言われています。
