    Vasili Ivanovich Komaroff was a Russian serial killer who murdered at least 33 people in Moscow between 1921 and 1923. He is considered one of the most prolific serial killers in Russian history. Komaroff was captured in 1923 and confessed to his crimes, but he was only convicted of 29 murders. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison, but he was released in 1991. In 1994, he was arrested again for raping a young girl, and he was sentenced to eight years in prison. However, he escaped from prison in 1997 and has not been seen since.
