In this episode of 22 Easy I, Casey Powell, speak to someone who has been there through it all, and I mean ALL. Susan Powell is the matriarch of the Powell family and continues to be a role model and mentor to my siblings and me. Mom and I talk about what it was like having 3 boys growing up with what she calls "healthy competition" in the backyard and everything else. I mean we all out scored each other at Syracuse University on the lacrosse field..that tells you something! Mom shares stories about being on the road for years with teams and families, and I get a little choked up - even emotional- when my mom tells what she thought the first time she saw me coach my first college lacrosse team. I just can't get enough. My mom doesn't just remember these stories, but she is someone who has kept road journals through the years with tales from on and off the field. I guess it's no surprise that she recently wrote a book, "A Knock At My Heart: A Story of Life, Love, and Lacrosse" This book is an answer to the angels she has knocking on her heart. Thank you for sharing our stories as seen through your eyes. I love you, Mom! How did you do last week against me in Powell's Picks? I made some picks that may surprise you this week. Did you like meeting Hometown last week? He's back on the podcast and shares where he fuels up on the local cuisine.
