Ep 47: Pain Neuroscience, Movement, and Massage with Sam Visnic

  • Summary

  • In Episode 47 of the Iron Strong Podcast we bring on Sam Visnic. Sam is a licensed Massage Therapist practicing in California, but also is a podcaster, youtuber, and author. He's spent his life studying the fundamental aspects of human health with a focus on movement and clinical massage therapy. In a world of specialists, surgical procedures, drugs and quick fix remedies, he's committed to finding and developing strategies that help people stuck at the “gap” as he calls it. Over the last 18 years he's studied dozens of systems and methodologies for uncovering the root cause of aches and pains, along with postural and movement issues. In this episode we go in to the many aspects of his practice including Pain Science and the art and science of hands-on soft tissue massage techniques, myofascial release, and coaching movement and how it is essential for helping people in pain. We also touch on when it is appropriate to integrate different methods but above all decipher WHEN to use different techniques with different people and situations, along with integration of movements that people want to be able to do again. Great episode and we hope you enjoy!
