Welcome to this special 2-hour episode of our interview with Rocket Norton!
Rocket is an iconic Canadian rock musician who is perhaps best known as the former drummer for Juno-award winning band PRiSM (Spaceship Superstar, Take me to the Kaptin, Night to Remember). Rocket has also been quite busy over the subsequent years, working as a member of other notable bands including: The Rocket Norton Band, The Seeds of Time, The Experimental Warrior, Revolver: The World's Best Beatles Band, The Rhythm & Blues Explosion and Tangerine. Rocket also led the house band, Rocky & The Jets, on CKVU-TV's Vancouver show for several years.
PRISM Alumni Al Harlow, John Hall, Ab Bryant, and Rocket Norton teamed up with Ayotte Drums founder Ray Ayotte to perform many of the classic songs as The Authentics. The Authentics released a new EP in October, 2019.
Rocket is also an accomplished author, having published a book about his involvement in the Vancouver music scene called Rocket Norton: Lost In Space. He has also written four other books including two novels titled Live Love Die and He Was More Than He Seemed, a textbook titled, The Real All-Star Baseball Team of the Twentieth Century (By The Numbers) and a guide titled, A Guide for Men Who Are Getting Married Or Wish To Stay Married.
Another of Rocket's proud achievements is a rock-opera called Visions: Mission Andromeda that was recorded with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and performed at the Vancouver Planetarium for many shows. Rocket is also deeply passionate about coaching baseball. He created a video program called How to Coach Baseball to Kids that has sold thousands of copies. An online version is coming soon.
