In January 1979, 16-year-old Brenda Spencer began shooting 30 rounds of ammunition at the Cleveland Elementary School, in San Diego, US. If you haven’t heard of it, perhaps you’re familiar with the song “I Don’t Like Mondays” by the Boomtown Rats? Well this terrible story is what inspired Bob Geldof to write the song.
