EP 21 - Finding GLORY in the GAME: a USA VETERAN tackling AMERICAN FOOTBALL in the Dominican Rep.

  • Summary

  • In this episode we introduce our friend, a valuable team member for the LOBOS, Darrius Redd, who was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. After serving in the military for 10+ years and being a determined VETERAN he is making the BOLD decision to move overseas to the Dominican Republic since he feels at peace while being near the beach and also considers that the country is a diamond in rough.

After coming back and forth for almost four years he decides to follow his passion and play AMERICAN FOOTBALL by joining the LOBOS team in a country where the sport is far from traditional and baseball is KING. Aspiring to become a coach, he sets out to train local athletes, sharing his insights for the game and teaching them the skills and strategies that define football.

However, his journey is met with cultural clashes, as many are skeptical about the sport’s place but despite the challenges he believes that with the right support and sponsorship, american football can take ROOT in the Dominican Republic. He emphasizes the need for key investors and advocates to help fund the sport’s growth and create opportunities for future players, making it clear that the game’s success here will depend on building a strong community of supporters proving that passion for the game knows no borders.
