Having grown up across three continents and moving every year, from an early age Victoria used songwriting to channel her fears of not fitting in. It’s Canal’s complete comfort in her own skin that lets her trust audiences and be truly vulnerable with them, frequently bringing fans to tears. Her newest EP, Victoria, released on August 28th, represents a giant step forward for Canal as a writer and producer, and the resulting tracks convey a maturity far beyond her 22 years. Hear Victoria tell Eric why a seaside cliff near Barcelona was the only place to record such a profoundly personal album, and why it feels right to release it during such a difficult year.
