  • En este capítulo de Libertadoras le contamos las tareas de algunas mujeres que, a pesar de estar prohibido, se unieron al ejército de la independencia durante su recorrido por la ruta libertadora. Muchas de ellas fungieron como enfermeras, espías o empuñaron armas. Entre julio y agosto de 1819, las mujeres cumplieron un papel protagónico e incluso llegaron a disfrazarse de hombres para poder ayudar con la causa libertaria, pues si eran descubiertas en el intento podían perder su vida.
