  • The Boston Strangler
    Oct 10 2024

Between 1962 and 1964, the Boston Strangler was labeled as the person responsible for a series of murders in the Back Bay Area of Boston, MA. The victims, ranging in age from 19 to 85, were sexually assaulted and strangled, often in their homes. Albert DeSalvo, a handyman with a criminal history, eventually confessed to the killings, though doubts about his guilt linger due to inconsistencies and lack of physical evidence linking him to all the crimes. DNA evidence later tied DeSalvo to the final victim, but some experts believe more than one person may have been involved in the murders. The case remains one of the most notorious in American criminal history.

On a seemingly perfect day, August 19, 1989, Jose and Kitty Menendez took their two sons, Lyle, 21, and Eric, 18, on a leisurely boating trip aboard their family yacht. Little did they know that this outing would precede an unimaginable tragedy. The very next night, as the family settled in for a relaxing evening, Lyle and Eric made a shocking decision that would alter their lives forever.

In a moment of darkness, the brothers fatally shot both of their parents and spent the rest of the night desperately trying to cover their tracks. In the months that followed, the Menendez brothers appeared to drown their sorrow in extravagant parties and lavish spending, a behavior that raised eyebrows among those who knew them.

As they struggled with their grief, they eventually sought counseling, but this is where the story takes a chilling twist. What compelled Lyle and Eric to confess to the unspeakable act against their parents? What has become of them since that fateful night?
