  • Summary

  • Don Berger (retired) sits down to reflect on his 44-year career as the head track and field coach at Salem Academy (1979-1999) and North Salem High School (2000-2021). During that span, his teams won 10 team state championships (plus an 11th in cross country) and 21 state trophies while also having 283 individual/relay state medals and 72 individual/relay state champions. In 2016, he was named the NFHS National Coach of the Year.
