From what’s going on behind the scenes at the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office, to special events or major incidents that may impact you or the community. We’re going to give you a sneak peek behind the curtain on conversations and topics at the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office. Our goal is to be as transparent as we possibly can be with our citizens, especially since transparency is one of our Core Values at the PCSO. In this first episode, we’ll dive into all things wildfire from preparedness to planning, and give you great tips on how you can take personal responsibility to ensure you’re ready for the upcoming fire season. Sheriff Joe DiSalvo will talk about the statutory responsibilities of the Office of the Sheriff regarding wildfire, Chief Deputy of Operations Parker Lathrop will discuss the Ready, Set, Go program - focussing on the first two sections. Emergency Manager Valerie MacDonald will go into the last section of the Ready, Set, Go program and talk all about evacuations, and more great planning and preparedness tips.
