  • Summary

  • Doin' Time With The Sheriff is the first and only public safety podcast in Pitkin County, and western Colorado, talking about all things public safety.

We explore what's going on behind the scenes at the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office, to special events or major incidents that may impact you or the community. We’re going to give you a sneak peek behind the curtain on conversations and topics at the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office. Our goal is to be as transparent as we possibly can be with our citizens, especially since transparency is one of our Core Values at the PCSO.

In the second episode, we take planning and preparedness to the backcountry with Mountain Rescue Aspen Rescue Leader Coordinator Scott Messina. Scott highlights what you can do to ensure you're prepared to go into the wilderness and how to ensure you're safe in the backcountry.

Sheriff Joe DiSalvo will talk about the statutory responsibilities of the Office of the Sheriff regarding search & rescue, Deputy Grant Jahnke will discuss our newest patrol program - Rural Area Deputy or RAD.
