Discovering Blind Spots: The Importance of Coaching and Mentoring with Sheria Stallings

  • Summary

  • In this episode of Leaders On The Rise, host Lydia Pierre has a conversation with Sheria Stallings, the Founder and Managing Director of She Soars LLC. She Soars is a Transformational Leadership and Professional Development Organization that helps women identify blind spots that create barriers to their success.

Lydia and Sheria discuss the importance of having a coach or mentor to help you discover these blind spots. Sheria compares it to having those special blind spot mirrors that reflect back to you what you don't see so you can avoid collision. They also talk about Sheria's personal journey with cancer and how it led her to create the Cast Your Pearls Philanthropic Benefit, which honors cancer survivors and extraordinary caregivers.

Sheria shares her story of being hit with a whirlwind of news that literally knocked her off her feet. Six days before Christmas at the age of 29, she heard the words that no wife or mother would ever expect to hear. "You are pregnant, you have an aggressive form of cancer that has metastasized to your lymph nodes, and to increase your chances of survival you must terminate your pregnancy." Despite this devastating news, Sheria miraculously recovered and went on to create the Cast Your Pearls Philanthropic Benefit.

As a Thought Leader, Business Strategist, and Keynote Speaker, Sheria travels nationally and internationally to teach others about her experiences and how they can overcome their own obstacles. This inspiring episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to overcome their own blind spots and achieve success in their personal and professional lives.
